Benfica's Darwin Núñez joined Liverpool for €75 million in 2022, representing one of the biggest sales in Portuguese football history. António Silva, barely 20 years old, is already attracting interest from elite European clubs.

The pattern is consistent — Liga Portugal finds the talent, nurtures it, and sells it to the world. For fans of the competition, it creates a bittersweet cycle of pride and loss. But it also means the league is always home to the next big name.
